Just before 5:30am, Millwood Engine 247 and Ladder 52 were requested to respond to Bell Middle School in Chappaqua for a fully involved garbage truck fire close to the structure. Members assisted The Chappaqua Fire Department and the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department with extinguishing the initial fire, as well as a small dumpster fire next to it. Members also used our thermal imaging camera to check for extension to the roof of the structure and assisted all companies with overhaul. While this was occurring at the scene, Mt. Kisco Engine 106 stood by at Chappaqua's headquarters in case of another alarm. Units were back in service after about an hour.

For our second alarm of the day just past 7:30am, Millwood FD responded with the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department and the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the Taconic State Parkway for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries. Car 2251 (Chief Santone) arrived on scene and determined there were minor injuries and no fire department action would be necessary. Units were back in service after about 20 minutes.
