After weeks of cleaning and preparation, Millwood FD held our annual Inspection Dinner at Station 1 Saturday evening. Guests included leaders of local police, EMS and fire departments, as well as local lawmakers. During the dinner, many awards were given to members for their great work:

Most Cleanup Hours: Wayne Brandt
2017 Most Drills: Lars Lee
2017 Most Alarms: Greg Santone
2017 Explorer of the Year: Matthew Eiden
2017 Rookies of the Year: Christina Araujo and Doug Lyon

In addition to these awards for the past year, we also took time to honor members who have reached milestones in their service with Millwood:

30 Years: Walter Quast
60 Years: Neil Gollogly

During the dinner, Millwood members were dispatched with Briarcliff Manor Fire Department, Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the Taconic State Parkway for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Units arrived on scene to find a car and motorcycle had collided severely injuring the motorcyclist. Members shut down the roadway and initiated patient care and packaging while awaiting EMS. Units were back in service within an hour and a half.
