Approx 1:30 PM Wed 9/3 Millwood Fire was dispatched to a residential alarm in the Cornell Woods complex off of Route 100. Upon arrival, Car 2251 observed light smoke pushing from the attic vents and soffits of a large 2 1/2 story wood frame structure. A FAST from Mount Kisco FD and an Engine from Chappaqua FD were requested. Ladder 52 arrived first due and started to force entry just as the house keeper returned and a line was being stretched. Lieut Moran and FF Isles made their way to the second floor with a can where they encountered a heavy smoke condition with moderate heat and were able to knock down a fire involving an electric clothes dryer. Additional crews under the direction of A.C. Schwark completed extinguishment and opened up to check for extension. Mutual aid was then released, the structure was ventilated and all units were back in service shortly after 3PM.
