Millwood Volunteer Firefighter and now Career Firefighter Kerry Merkel graduated from the Westchester County Career Chiefs Firefighter Academy today and was awarded Valedictorian honors. Kerry joined Millwood as a volunteer over 10 years ago and has been an integral part of the firefighting community. Kerry began his career as an EMT with FDNY and was promoted shortly after to FDNY Paramedic where he was awarded many pre-hospital saves during his time in NYC. The Millwood Fire Department wishes Kerry Merkel a safe career with his new job.
