At approximately 18:45 HRS on Thursday evening Millwood Tanker 15 was requested to stand by at Armonk FD HQ as they were operating at a large brush fire in the area of the Rye Lake Bridge on Route 22. Car 2251 and Tanker 15 responded but just as they arrived at Armonk HQ they were requested to the scene. For the next 3+ Hours Millwood's Tanker 15 supplied Mt Kisco's Engine 106 as they fed one of two - 2 1/2" lines raised up a sheer 80' rock face to the area of the fire. These larger lines were then wyed off to 1 1/2" line and then to forestry hose. While Driver Walter Quast and Captain Nestro handled Tanker operations, Lieutenant McCarthy took a 3 man crew to help with extinguishment and then breaking down both hose stretches and lowering all hose down the rock face at the end of the operation.
