At 14:41 HRS on Tuesday afternoon, Millwood FD was dispatched to an MVA on Route 100 North. A vehicle with a single occupant had left the roadway and struck a tree. The 71 year old female may have been suffering from an underlying medical issue and sustained a compound fracture of the right lower leg in the collision. In severe pain but with low blood pressure the Medic could not administer pain medication so the decision was made to quickly widen the opening by hyper extending the drivers door, removing the rear passenger door and folding down the B-post - thereby reducing the amount of patient movement needed to remove the patient. The patient was boarded and transported to WCMC by CVAC with the WEMS Medic on board.
