At approximately 12:30 AM Sunday morning, Millwood Fire was dispatched to an 1 car MVA on Saw Mill River Road between Sand Street and Pamela Place. The single occupant was out of the vehicle on arrival and RMA'd with WEMS and CVAC. Con Ed was notified of the damage to the utility pole but the repair wasn't made until Wednesday evening. In the mean time the primaries - no longer secured to the pole top insulators - made contact with tree limbs and began sparking on Wednesday afternoon. Millwood Fire again responded and closed the road for 3 + hours until Con Ed arrived and made repairs. Power was cut to the area for more than an hour during the repairs. During the outage a home generator on Hidden Hollow ran until it went off on low oil. The homeowner overfilled it with oil and it smoked heavily upon restarting. Millwood Fire again responded to a report of the generator on fire.
