TACONIC PARKWAY ROLLOVER AND A CAR FIRE KEEP MILLWOOD FIREFIGHTERS BUSY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

The Millwood Fire Company was kept busy yesterday afternoon!

First, at 11:45am, we were dispatched with the Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD, Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps to a motor vehicle accident with reported extrication on the Taconic State Parkway. Car 2251 (Chief Santone) arrived on scene and confirmed with rollover with negative entrapment. Millwood and Yorktown Fire units created a safe work zone while Ossining VAC and Yorktown VAC members aided the injured. 1 victim was transported to the hospital and units were in service less than an hour later.

An hour and a half later, we were dispatched with the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department to a reported car fire on the Taconic State Parkway. Car 2052 (Briarcliff Chief) arrived on scene and reported a fully involved car fire. Briarcliff's Engine 94 was first to arrive on scene and extinguished the fire. Millwood and Briarcliff units assisted with cleanup of the remains of the car as well as scene safety. Units were in service an hour later.
