The past 2 days have been very busy for Millwood FD, answering a total of 12 calls for service within 48 hours. Most calls were residential fire alarms, all of which were false alarms. Millwood FD also responded mutual aid with the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department with Tanker 15 to an oil tanker fire on Route 9, a commercial alarm at Westorchard Elementary School with The Chappaqua Fire Department, and 3 calls within 30 minutes due to a lightning strike, one of which prompted a response with Chappaqua FD and Ossining Fire Department for the lightning strike possibly hitting a home.
