Yesterday morning, Millwood FD apparatus drivers took part in a brand new driver training program created by 2nd Lt. Andrew Parkis. Over 10 drivers conducted their in-house driver recertification, while other newer members in the current Emergency Vehicle Operations Class at the Westchester County Fire Training Center were introduced to driving our apparatus. Utilizing Engine 247, Engine 248, Ladder 52 and Tanker 15, all members were introduced to the new program and were able to get time behind the wheel of these apparatus. We would like to thank the IBM TJ Watson Research Center for the use of their large parking lot for our drivers to train on.
