It was a busy weekend for the Millwood FD volunteers!

On Saturday at 1:30, after wrapping up a drafting drill with Briarcliff Manor Fire Department, Tanker 15 was requested to assist the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department at a large brush fire. Bedford Hills Fire Department and Armonk Fire Department Tankers were also requested to assist, as this area did not have hydrants. Car 2251 (Chief Raguso), Car 2253 (Chief McCarthy) and Tanker 15 operated on scene and fed water to Mt. Kisco Engine 103, who supplied handlines into the woods. 40 minutes later, Engine 247 was requested to standby at Mt. Kisco Station 2 for the duration of the incident. Units returned to service 3 hours later.

Sunday was a very busy day for Millwood FD. At 2:15am, Millwood members responded to a CO incident. No CO was found when crews went into the home with gas meters. At 10:30am, Millwood and the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to a reported motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist. The bicyclist had minor injuries and refused medical attention. At 3:30pm, Millwood members responded to a residential alarm that was set off by sanding in the house. At 5pm, Millwood FD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Campfire Road. OVAC also responded to this incident but no parties reported injuries.

Finally, early Monday morning, Millwood FD responded with Briarcliff Manor FD to the Taconic State Parkway northbound for a reported motor vehicle fire. Car 2251 arrived on scene confirming the fire and that the vehicle was off the road and into the ditch. Car 2251, 2252, 2253, Engine 247 and Engine 247 responded to this incident and cleared in about an hour.
