Millwood FD Participates in Low Angle Rope Rescue Training

November 12, 2020

During the last 2 weekends of October, 20 Millwood FD members had the opportunity to refine low angle rope skills and learn new techniques from NorthEast Squad Concepts. These highly-trained instructors taught our members skills through a 3 hour classroom session and two 8 hour hands-on courses. The courses went over low angle rescue techniques, as well as patient packaging. After numerous opportunities to practice skills on a smaller scale at Station 1, the course culminated in a simulated low angle rescue on the Taconic State Parkway, where we performed a low angle rescue after a car accident in a previous year. Millwood FD officers used the information provided to update and upgrade our rope rescue equipment in the coming months so we can be better prepared in the event of a low angle rescue.
We can't thank NorthEast Squad Concepts enough for providing us with this valuable experience.
