On Wednesday night, Captain Santone took Engine 247 down to the Westchester County Fire Training Center to give the students of the pump operator class hands-on experience. With one of our members participating in the class, applying the skills they learned on a piece of apparatus they could pump water on in the future is crucial.

The pump operator class teaches students about the responsibilities of an operator, how to use the pump panel correctly and successfully for the operation and allows them to practice all of these skills on the training ground.
