At 1:10 this morning, Millwood Ladder 52 was requested on Chappaqua FD's 10-75 assignment (working fire) as they arrived on scene of a well involved large house fire on South Bedford Road. Car 2253 (Chief McCarthy) and Ladder 52 responded minutes later with a full crew. Millwood members arrived on scene and immediately began throwing ground ladders and assisting members of Chappaqua FD, Pleasantville FD, Thornwood FD, and Mt. Kisco FD members with the hoselines in operation. Once all visible fire was knocked down, members helped open the walls of the balloon frame home to expose any hot spots. Millwood units were back in service in just over 4 hours.
