Just before 4:30 yesterday afternoon, Millwood FD was dispatched with Chappaqua CVAC and 45Medic1 to a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a car vs. a truck on Route 100 in the area of Sand Street. Car 2254 (Captain Santone) arrived on scene and confirmed the accident and reported 1 party trapped in their truck against the guardrail. Mini-Attack 10 and Rescue 36 arrived on scene and winched the truck away from the guardrail to extricate the patient by removing the driver's side door and dashboard. Meanwhile, Engine 248 handled traffic control while Route 100 was shutdown for scene safety. The patient was transported ALS by CVAC. Units were back in service within just over an hour.
