December 20, 2021

Just before 12:30 this afternoon, Millwood FD was dispatched mutual aid to Chappaqua FD for a brush fire on Bedford Road while Chappaqua operated at a garbage truck fire across from their firehouse. While en route, Car 2252 (Chief Rodrigues), Car 2253 (Chief McCarthy) and Engine 247 were redirected to the scene of the garbage truck fire. Engine 248 also responded to the brush fire call but was redirected to standby for Chappaqua in their quarters while they operated and instead, Mt. Kisco FD Engine 105 handled the brush fire. Members of Engine 247 assisted Chappaqua members with overhauling the cardboard that was on fire from the garbage truck, while Engine 248 members stoodby in the event that Chappaqua received another call. Millwood units were back in service in just over an hour and a half.
