Millwood FD's busy Wednesday began just after 12:45pm with a reported motor vehicle fire in a driveway off North State Road. Car 2252 (Chief Rodrigues) and Engine 247 arrived on scene and confirmed the vehicle fire as the result of the car striking a tree in the driveway. Crews from Engine 247, Engine 248 and Mini-Attack 10 quickly stretched a hoseline to extinguish the fire. Units were back in service within 1 hour.

At 2:20pm, Millwood FD was dispatched on a dual response with the Chappaqua FD to a commercial alarm at Roaring Brook Elementary School. Car 2252 (Chief Rodrigues) and Engine 247 responded and confirmed that the alarm was set off in error. Units returned to service moments later.

Just before 4:15, Millwood Engine 247 was requested to assist Ossining FD on a confirmed structure fire in their district. Car 2251 (Chief Raguso), 2252 (Chief Rodrigues), 2253 (Chief McCarthy), and Engine 247 responded soon after dispatch. Millwood FD members arrived on scene and replaced Ossining FD and Croton FD crews on the fire floor and helped with suppression efforts. Millwood FD, Ossining FD, and Croton FD members were assisted by Tarrytown FD, Sleepy Hollow FD, Briarcliff Manor FD, and Thornwood FD members on scene to bring the situation under control. Millwood units were back in service in just over 2.5 hours.

During the Ossining structure fire, at 5:50pm, Millwood FD was dispatched to a reported telephone pole fire with wires burning on Shinglehouse Road. Engine 248 responded and awaited the arrival of Con Edison. The Engine 248 crew closed the road while Con Ed crews operated. Units were back in service within an hour.
