Tuesday Drill Focuses on Tanker Operations and Pump Training

June 1, 2022

For our weekly Tuesday night drill, over 20 members gathered at Station 2 to review a variety of important skills. Most members took the time to review tanker and drafting operations. With the west side of our district lacking fire hydrants, these skills are crucial to train on in the event of a fire on that side of town. Members also had the opportunity to review handline procedures and portable monitor (higher capacity, on-ground nozzle) operations.

While this was going on, 4 members received driver training and pump operation certifications on Engine 247, Engine 248, and Mini-Attack 10. The tanker drill afforded the perfect opportunity for these members to practice pumping techniques for a variety of fire scene scenarios.
