Yesterday evening, the Millwood FD Officers' staff and Town of New Castle Fire Marshall conducted a mid-construction walkthrough of the addition being done to the Sunshine Children’s Home and Rehab Center on the west side of our fire district. The walkthrough focused on the fire suppression system throughout the building and gave the Officers' staff the opportunity to begin creating pre-planning processes in the event of an emergency upon the completion of construction. Establishing pre-plans is crucial for buildings of this size because they allow responders to understand the structure, interior configuration, and unique challenges that may hamper emergency efforts.
