Just after 2pm this afternoon, Millwood FD was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle fire on the Taconic State Parkway southbound, just south of Pinesbridge Road. Car 2252 (Chief Rodrigues) arrived first on scene to confirm a working car fire in the shoulder and asked the Engine from Briarcliff Manor FD to continue in as it was already on the Parkway due to the incident originally being reported as further south in Briarcliff's District. Rescue 36 arrived on scene moments later and leveraged a combination of water and foam to begin suppression efforts. Engine 248 arrived next and gained access to the engine bay and interior of the vehicle to extinguish pockets of fire with members from Mini-Attack 10 and Briarcliff Manor FD Engine 94. Units returned to service within an hour.
