Over the past week, Millwood FD had the opportunity to lead and take part in two great training opportunities to educate our members and the community on lifesaving skills.

Last week, Millwood FD hosted our first CPR class. This free course taught members of the community about the crucial steps to take when someone stops breathing or their heart stops. Due to the success of this class, be on the lookout for more in the future so you can be trained in this important, lifesaving skill.

Last night, Millwood FD members had the opportunity to take a "stop the bleed" course at Station 1. This course was targeted towards all members, no matter their medical certification or expertise. It covered techniques for stopping bleeding from different parts of the body to ensure members understood how to react in various scenarios. This skill is crucial for members due to the number of motor vehicle accidents with injuries we respond to regularly throughout our district.
