A Standby and a Rollover

March 10, 2024

Yesterday morning, Millwood FD Engine 248 and Car 2252 (Chief McCarthy) covered the Croton-on-Hudson FD fire district with our neighbors from Yorktown Heights FD as Croton-on-Hudson FD members laid 80-year member John J. Giglio to rest. Millwood FD expresses our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Safety Officer Giglio.

Later in the day, just before 2pm, Millwood FD was dispatched with Chappaqua VAC to a reported motor vehicle rollover with a telephone pole snapped in half on Route 133. Millwood FD members arrived on scene and confirmed the location of the incident, as well as the rollover with a broken pole. Millwood FD worked with New Castle PD to shut down the road, while Chappaqua VAC evaluated the patient. Units remained on scene for around 1.5 hours before returning to service.
