At 1:15 yesterday afternoon, Millwood FD was alerted to a reported air conditioning unit on fire with an engine from Briarcliff Manor FD and a FASTeam from Mt. Kisco FD. All 3 Millwood chiefs arrived on scene moments after dispatch and found that the homeowner had extinguished a small fire involving a wall mounted thermostat and returned all mutual aid. Upon the arrival of Millwood FD apparatus, members confirmed there was no extension of the fire, ventilated the structure, and shut all power to the HVAC equipment.
Millwood units returned to service within 30 minutes.
