At 11:40 yesterday morning, Millwood FD Ladder 52 was requested to standby at Croton-on-Hudson FD Station 2 while they operated with numerous neighboring fire departments at a working 2nd alarm structure fire in their district. Car 2251 (Chief Rodrigues) and Ladder 52, with a crew including DTI Schwark, FF Brandoff, FF Valdez, and FF Yun, responded soon after dispatch and covered the Croton Fire District for 2.5 hours with Briarcliff Manor FD Engine 94 before returning to service.

The homeowner at this fire made the smart decision to close the door from the garage to the main area of the home, which helped protect the rest of the home from the fire extending (as seen in the photo from Croton FD). If there is a fire in your home, always remember to close doors to help prevent further spread of the fire.
