At 1:30 yesterday afternoon, as members were assisting with our annual hose testing, Millwood FD was dispatched with Ossining VAC to a reported rollover accident on Route 134 at Grace Lane. First arriving units found that the vehicle had lost control and crashed into a rock, flipped, and landed in brush 75ft off the roadway. Due to it being an electric vehicle, members took extra precautions while removing it from the woods, as there was a risk of damage to the lithium ion battery that could result in a serious, difficult to control fire. The driver of the vehicle was able to self-extricate prior to our arrival and was transported by Ossining VAC to Westchester Medical Center with minor injuries.
