Millwood FD members participated in an intensive day of training on Saturday along with Ossining FD and Croton-On-Hudson FD. AC McCarthy, FF Brandoff, FF Brockliss, and FF Trucido joined over 20 members from all 3 departments to travel up to the New Haven Fire Training Academy to conduct live burn training, led by Signal 73 Fire Training LLC. This training focused on basement fires, effectively stretching hoselines throughout a structure, forcible entry, and VES (Vent, Enter, Search). As Ossining FD and Croton FD have FASTeams (teams that specialize in rescuing downed firefighters) that respond to structure fires in our district and around Westchester County, members also had the opportunity to simulate the removal of a downed member.
